In the World Energy Outlook 2020, the International Energy Agency (IEA) focused its analysis on the next 10-year period starting from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. For 2020, global energy demand is expected to decrease by 5%, energy-related CO2 emissions by 7% and energy investments by 18%. In accordance with the report, renewable energies will dominate, by meeting at least 80% of the growth in global electricity demand over the next 10 years.
