The UK and international tax landscape has never been quiet for fund and asset managers (GPs) but a number of recent tax developments will have the potential to significantly affect how these businesses operate. Some of these developments will, however, be welcome by most GPs.

Stephanie is an experienced Transfer Pricing professional and heads Baker McKenzie's Financial Services Transfer Pricing (FSTP) group. Prior to joining the Firm, Stephanie was a Big 4 FSTP partner in the UK and Switzerland and has more than 20 years of experience in TP and related economic and business consulting. She is quoted as a "leading/highly regarded" TP advisor in various expert listings e.g. World Transfer Pricing, she often presents at international conferences and has authored/contributed to several articles in academic and business journals. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from London Business School.

Tom Aston is a tax consultant with Baker McKenzie's London office. Prior to joining the Firm in 2017, Tom spent many years as a tax partner with a "Big 4" accounting firm and was responsible for advising some of the world's largest financial institutions and sovereign wealth funds. Tom also led tax audits for major international financial services groups. Tom also previously led his old firm's New York tax desk and continues to advise on UK/ US matters. In addition he spent 2 years as a tax adviser in Johannesburg.
