To mark Baker McKenzie’s return to the Dubai International Financial Centre, we cordially invite you to join us as we host two thought-provoking sessions in our new office. Much has been made of both the impact of and investments in artificial intelligence (AI) and how AI is revolutionizing the process of digital transformation, providing opportunities for businesses to optimize their operations and enhance customer experiences. Amid recent hype around ChatGPT and generative AI, many are eager to harness the technology’s increasingly sophisticated potential. But how can organizations prepare for generative AI and how is it changing the risk landscape? Some say we are on the cusp of a revolution in the legal profession led by the adoption of AI throughout the legal industry, but in particular by in-house lawyers.

Seats are limited for both events, so please register using the RSVP button by 27 October 2023.

Adopting AI technology could boost GCC economies by USD 150 billion, according to a recent McKinsey research. While another consultancy, PwC, estimates that AI has the potential to contribute as much as USD 320 billion to Middle East economies by 2030.

AI plays an increasingly important role in our lives and economy and is already having an impact on our world in many different ways. AI is seen by many as an engine of productivity and economic growth. It can increase the efficiency with which things are done and vastly improve the decision-making process by analyzing large amounts of data. It can also spawn the creation of new products and services, markets and industries, thereby boosting consumer demand and generating new revenue streams. While a large number of organizations rely on data scientists to champion and lead AI initiatives, all relevant stakeholders, including legal, the C-suite, boards, privacy, compliance and HR, need to be involved throughout the entire decision-making process.

Join us for an interactive session facilitated by Ben Allgrove, Baker McKenzie’s Chief Innovation Officer, that will touch on some of the compliance and governance risks around adopting AI from a contracting or transactional perspective.
