Product regulation and safety is a key area of focus for consumer protection authorities around the world. In this session, our speakers discussed recent developments in the regulation of product safety which businesses supplying products in the UK and EU need to be aware of.

The panel considered the compliance issues at all stages of the product lifecycle including product design,  packaging and advertising, recall and disposal.  This involved an examination of key new pieces of legislation, including the EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) (and its interplay with the EU Digital Services Act), the European Accessibility Act, the EU Artificial Intelligence Act, sustainability requirements across both the UK and EU, and the direction of travel of product regulation under the UK’s agenda for ‘smarter regulation.’ You can access the webinar recording here.
