On 18 October 2017, the Competition and Consumer Amendment (Competition Policy Review) Bill 2017finally passed both Houses of Parliament. Coupled with the Competition and Consumer Amendment (Misuse of Market Power) Bill 2017, it represents the most significant reform of Australian competition law in the past two decades.
Leanne Meyer is a senior associate in Baker McKenzie's Sydney office and a member of the Firm's Dispute Resolution and Competition groups. Leanne has extensive experience advising and appearing for clients in a range of commercial disputes in state, interstate and commonwealth courts across multiple jurisdictions. She has acted in competition and consumer law disputes, has represented clients in enforcement investigations and has been involved in the development and delivery of competition and consumer law compliance training programs. Leanne has had exposure to large, complex litigation proceedings, particularly proceedings undertaken by competition and corporate regulators. She has built up a deep understanding of litigation processes and procedures, and is able to guide clients through competition and commercial disputes on any scale.
