The topic of taxpayer’s rights in the age of tax transparency is discussed in a pending case before the ECJ. The ECJ has earlier ruled in favour of the taxpayer on the application of the right to a fair trial on a cross-border exchange of information upon request from a tax authority in another EU Member State, and will now address right of effective legal remedy directly against an information request under the same exchange procedure.

On 12 November 2020, the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel Lopez Obrador, submitted a draft bill to Congress that would prohibit the subcontracting of personnel and regulate the performance of specialized services and works. The draft bill, if passed, would reform the Federal Labor Law (FLL), the Social Security Law, the Law of the Institute of the National Workers’ Housing Fund (INFONAVIT), the Federal Fiscal Code, the Income Tax Law and the Value Added Tax Law.

The Premier must propose four new commissioners by the 31 October 2020 for the Legislative Yuan’s approval. The TFTC has been investigating an alleged price-fixing cartel in the non-life insurance industry that has been facilitated by a commercial fire insurance rate table from the Non-life Insurance Association.
